COMEDY WORKSHOP

Weekend Workshop at The Laugh Garage Comedy Club Sydney. Good for beginners and comedians looking to write MORE material. This workshop offers more 'one on one' tutouring than previous workshops.

When: STARTS Monday JULY 6th 2009 7pm-9pm. Continuing on the following 3 Mondays 13, 20 and 27th with the showcase night on Tuesday July 28th

Price: $440 (includes GST) *limited to 10 people

Why a comedy workshop?

A comedy workshop can help you get over your initial fears of being in front of an audience (and being judged by them), because it gives you a place to get feedback before you go on to take the next step, Open Mic. It can also help you avoid some of the fundamental mistakes a newcomer goes through. It can also help you to get some contacts in the industry.

Why are we doing the workshop?

There will always be people wanting to try stand up comedy, and you might as well do it right from the start. It's a great way to start doing stand up comedy.

Won’t more comedians be working?

Some might go on to make a career out of it (eventually); others might use it as a one off experience and chances are some will fade into the comedy abyss… Either way, if you ever thought you’d like to give it a go, now there’s no excuse. You may just want to get some public speaking experience out of the workshop.

What happens after the workshop?

That’s up to you. It’s amazing how many people expect some kind of instant stardom. It's important that you understand that the value you get out of an Open Mic night (the next step), is the opportunity to try different things in front of an audience and develop your routine to a level that allows you to improve. It’s called ‘Experience’!

You need not be prepared. Some might have nothing, some might have ideas and some might have a bit of material already. The best thing to do is bring your ideas that you might want to do a comedy routine about.

Pen, Notebook and Brain.
